Halloweeny is Done

November 23, 2009 - by chrisbrandel

[Halloweeny was really done before Halloween!  As you can see...things have been a little slow around here and I'll be getting caught up shortly.  Thanks for continuing to follow along!  --Lori G.]

I finally finished the Halloween necklace I have been posting about lately. I went with multiple strands off hand-braided and beaded cotton cord, opted not to include the coiled wire beads, and I knotted the lampworked beads randomly into two cords.

Here is the result:

007

I’m not jazzed about the clasp, but it’ll do for now. I wanted a coiled hook and loop clasp, but I can’t get my head around how to attach them to the cords. Right now it’s just a plain copper hook and a loop with orange wire coiled around it. I used the tails of the cords to wrap around below the findings, but it doesn’t look the way I want.

I’m planning to wear it on Halloween, so I figure I’ll have time to fix up the clasp later.

I’ve got some more ideas for other necklaces in this design already. I want to make one for Christmas, and one with an undersea/ocean theme…and one in black and white…and maybe one in neutrals….guess I’d better get making the cords and beads!

I’m Christine Brandel, from Richmond, Virginia, and I love to make things.
