In my last post here, you saw one of my soft glass chakra Goddess sculptures. Now, I am showing you one from the same series made with borosilicate glass.
Borosilicate white glass is a great canvas for my Enamel decals. This 4-1/2″ tall sculpture was a three hour process. (After the decals were made.) This was inspired by my desire to want to understand more about these internal human energies, and the images I found through Google.
I am experimenting with wrapping the decals around three dimensional forms. Trying to figure out what my limits are. I am realizing with every project, I can figure out how to overcome my limits. Each project has some epiphanies, and some new challenges. The end result could be UN-imaginable at this time.
As an Artist I am discouraged by the amount of time it is taking to figure out what I am doing. This project is still in the sketch book phase.
The chakra symbols are not memorized by me in any way. I looked at one image, and then I went off and created my own, with the chakra rainbow, and radial floral designs that I created from memory, and imagination. Most of these images were created in the computer. Only a few photographs of lilies were used at the bottom of the white simple figure form.
I imagine many of my glass sculptures having implosions (explosions) of color within the base. I think I can do a lot more with this idea. I would like to incorporate the implosion base into the figure more. Kind of like a metamorphosis.
The chakra series has inspired this next design.

This is a combination of a photograph and a image created in the computer. The organic petal shapes are from a photograph of one of my favorite petal murrini. The symmetrical petals were created in the computer. This is a great image for a bead, or a sculpture. I just recently printed the decals. I have only run a few tests. So far, WOW!!! I really like this image.
So, as you can tell, I have a lot going on; Sculpture, decal design, and two shows coming up next month.
Can’t wait to see what happens next.
