I have lots of murrini. I’m not kidding, here. Lots.

The purpose of me having so much murrini is to make beads with it. Apparently, I’m not supposed to just put it into cute little containers and stare at it adoringly. It does look like candy, doesn’t it? Mmmmmmmmm. Wait. What was I talking about again? Oh yeah, beads.
I am supposed to be making sample or tester beads for the murrini so people can see what the murrini looks like on a bead. So, occasionally, I actually get a chance to do that. I never know what background color to use, though. Should it match the murrini or contrast with it? I don’t want to end up with a bunch of white beads with a murrini plastered in the center of it so I get a little more elaborate so the beads are saleable.

The problem (and it’s not a problem I am complaining about, mind you) is that by the time I make the beads, anneal them, clean them and photograph them, the murrini I used on them is sold out. Luckily, Kim is much quicker with the beadmaking than I am and she picks up the slack for me in that area.
I’m having a great time with the murrini making, all in all. I am so much more passionate about creating now. I am also much more into running it as a business now than I was before I started making the murrini. We have nearly daily phone meetings to discuss the business (with a bit of girl talk mixed in, too).
I’m Lori Peterson and you can find me at loribeads.com, loribeads.etsy.com, loriandkim.etsy.com for murrini and I am also blogging here and twittering there.
