As many of you know, my husband and I made a life-changing decision this past spring. Because of his illness and my disability, we decided to move back home to NH, to be near family and friends. On July 18th, exactly 7 years to the day after moving to FL, our family and friends descended upon our home in Jacksonville, packed us up and moved us home.

We are just NOW beginning to get somewhat organized. I STILL haven’t found my torch and regulator (that’s very stress inducing!), and not even half of my glass is unpacked yet…but, we are home. When we stepped off the plane at Manchester (NH) Airport I took a deep breath, and I inhaled the sweet scents of pine and flowers, and knew I was home.
Strangely, inspiration has hit me in totally new ways since I’ve been back… looking at my new (old) surroundings has renewed my creative juices. Also, unpacking my glass into a new cabinet has given me glass-envy all over again. I wanna play!!!

So, here is the built-in cabinet I am storing my glass in, I love the size and the depth, even my longer cane from Reichenbach fits, with room to spare!
I never thought I would have so much fun just playing with, unwrapping and storing my glass, I feel like a kid at Christmas!

To add to my fun, this house has an AWESOME alcove, with three windows facing outward. This will be where I spend any torch time!
There are windows on each side of the alcove so I have GREAT cross ventilation even without my fans. My only fear is that I’ll spend TOO MUCH time daydreaming, and not enough torching! Of course my arm lets me do very little, so I guess I have an excuse for daydreaming…

It’s hard to see out the windows in the indoor photo, so I walked outside and took a picture standing right under the window with the statues. Isn’t the view beautiful?
So, the good news is that we should be back up and running this weekend. Bill’s on mandrel cutting and order packing duty, and I am back practicing, to hopefully get more mobility in my hands and arms! See you again SOON, hopefully with some glass goodies to share!!

Hi Lynn,
Packing, moving then unpacking can be so exhausting, I’m glad you’re seeing a light at the end of the tunnel and will be playing with your glass soon.

I wonder if I’ll ever have that much glass? Right now I’m amazed that I have eight pounds!
