I’ve been experimenting for a while now. Trying to come up with something new for this seasons shows. While I can say that haven’t created pure yuck, I can also say that I feel far from being there. There is one design that I’m close with, but since I’ve been talking about bright colors, I’m going to show you where I am with that.

You might know that I like funky shapes. I even wrote a tutorial about one method to start towards making funky flattened tabs. These are different method and now that I look back on them, I think I like them. A little. Here’s the back…which gives a totally different design:

And check out how slim line they are for ease of wear:

I was plugging along pretty well, wasn’t I? I was getting there. They need refinement and color studies but they could be contenders.
Until I went and did this:

I etched them. What was I thinking? I was thinking they would turn out really cool and have a nice satin touch. Which they do. But they lost their pop and every layer of color in the transparents shows up as it’s own color instead of blended like they looked before they were etched. I guess I could put them back in the kiln and fire polish them back, right?
::sigh::

Lori!
These are wonderful! I have been experimenting with some of the same free form shapes. You inspire me to change it up a bit. I am a novice bead maker so most everything I make ends up in a bead jar at this point but I love these bright, fun and funky beads! Wonderful!!!
